fier
Fier means 'proud': fier de soi is proud of yourself, fière with an -e for the feminine (the pronunciation stays the same). It pairs with de — fier de mes enfants, proud of my children. Beware the tone: standing alone, un fier can also suggest haughty pride, so context matters.
